Characteristics of the Dual Model: Connection with the company

The IMH University School of Dual Engineering applies the Dual Training model in the Undergraduate and Master's degrees. Dual Training is an education model that combines the education received in the training centre and the work carried out in the company. The company participates in the education process and the student learns both in the company and in the school. To this end, from the beginning, the professional profile of the student is designed in collaboration with the company, since planning and coordination between the two areas is necessary for the development of the student's skills. This connection of the education process and the professional development in the company allows the real development of the student, a development adapted to the labour market.

Advantages of the Dual model

Professional profiles to meet the needs of companies

Dual training is aimed at meeting the needs of companies. Therefore, in order to get a professional adapted to their needs, companies participate in the training of the students from the beginning.

Students gain first-hand experience of the company

The training of students in the centre and in the company allows them to get to know business reality and to adapt their studies to the needs of the company. In addition, they will acquire skills that cannot be developed in more traditional education systems.

Suitable integration process

Thanks to the training given both at university and in the company, the gap between classical education and work practice disappears and contradictions between theory, competence and practice are overcome. It enables a rapid and progressive integration of students.

The student becomes a worker, with responsibilities that will accelerate the process to achieve maturity and personal fulfillment.

Personalised monitoring

Student support is essential, hence the importance of monitoring. Each student is tutored both at the university and the company.

Successful results

Our partner companies are highly satisfied with this training. This is why we have high employability rates and the level of hiring at student-hosting companies is also high.

Dual training in the company in the Master

40% of the curriculum credits will be taught within or in collaboration with an entity or company. These credits correspond to the following compulsory subjects: Practicum (Curricular Practices) of 23 ECTS , Methodology and research project of 7 ECTS and the Master's Final Project (6 ECTS).

Dual model, the beginning

The IMH has implemented dual training since the creation of its University School (1996)
